Vendor Spotlight | Karis Johnston | Rustic Herbal Soap and Grace Acres Farm

Posted by Avalon Plauche on

Karis Johnston of Rustic Herbal Soap and Grace Acres Farm reached out to me at the end of 2017 looking to potentially join our "The Downtown Exchange family." I had been hoping to carry natural soaps that were locally made in or around Denison, TX and it was perfect that she contacted us! Her products started with soaps, then there were bath bombs, shower steamers, lip balms, and now lotion sticks and sugar scrubs! I keep thinking it can't get better, but she proves me wrong every time. She also brings me the most beautiful flowers when she comes to refill after the Downtown Denison Farmer's Market & it just makes seeing her and having her in the shop and even brighter, more colorful, experience! We were so blessed by her products, as avid consumers, and her presence.

We asked Mrs. Karis to answer our vendor questionnaire, and here are her answers:

How long have you had a booth?

9 months

What made you decide to open a booth?

A desire to share our homemade natural product on a more regular basis than just a weekend farmers market. We love Denison downtown and we believe in shopping local.

How would you describe your merchandise?

It is Food for your Skin. If it’s is a healthy edible oil, herb, clay and essential oil it can go in our soaps, body and lip balms, sugar scrubs and bath bombs.

What’s something you like about being in The Downtown Exchange?

The store has an easy, super creative vibe and of course Avalon and Natalie are wonderful to work with and our number one fan!

What’s your favorite thing about having a booth?

The opportunity to get creative both with the available space and to see what products people really enjoy.

Here are some photographs of some of the amazing products by Rustic Herbal Soap!
